Rosemont’s Frankel colt – A Million Dollar Man!
5th March, 2025
World renowned sire Frankel has six yearlings to be offered at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale and quickly made his mark on Sunday when a colt from Heavenly Curlin (USA) made $1million for Rosemont Stud.
$1million Frankel colt from Heavenly Curlin
The blueblood colt was bought by Resolute Racing / McEvoy Mitchell Racing / Belmont Bloodstock and is the second foal of Group III Woodbine Maple Leaf Stakes winner Heavenly Curlin, an imported daughter of leading US sire Curlin from a super successful Australian female family.
Bred in North America, Heavenly Curlin is from winning Aussie bred Encosta de Lago mare Taste of Heaven, a sibling to Group I winners Redoute’s Choice, Manhattan Rain and Platinum Scissors that was bought back in 2014 at the Magic Millions Teeley Assets Dispersal for $1.5million by James Harron Bloodstock/Hill ‘n’ Dale Farm.
Taste of Heaven was sent to the US after that and spent her early years at stud in Kentucky before returning to Australia in 2020. She went back to the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale in 2021 where she was bought by Mitchell Bloodstock for $1.6million and had a filly by I Am Invincible last spring and was then covered by Home Affairs.
Heavenly Curlin is so far the best of three winners from six to race from Taste of Heaven.
Rosemont Stud are giving her every opportunity to succeed and she produced a colt by Exceed and Excel last spring before visiting Anamoe.
