Coolmore Swoop on Rosemont Stud’s $1.3million Dundeel Colt

Breednet, Tara Madgwick – Monday March 30

Widden Stud are enjoying a phenomenal Inglis Easter and hit the target again on Monday with a $1.3million Dundeel colt offered on behalf of leading Victorian farm Rosemont Stud.

Rosemont have invested heavily in some top class mares in recent years including multiple Group winning I Am Invincible mare Fiesta, who was bought for $1.35 million from the 2021 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale.

They got $700,000 for a colt by Pinatubo (IRE) from the glamour mare last year at Magic Millions and nearly doubled that at Inglis Easter when her colt by Dundeel caught the attention of the Coolmore team.

He was purchased by Jamie McCalmont for Tom Magnier and is the highest priced yearling by Dundeel sold this year.

He is also the fifth yearling at this sale sold by Widden for $1million or more!

Fiesta produced a filly by Wootton Bassett (GB) last spring and then went back to Dundeel.
