progressive Victorian farm Rosemont Stud has announced it 2014 stallions fees with Toorak Toff set to stand again for an unchanged mark of $15,000 + GST.
With the first foals by the fastest ever G1 Golden Rose winner to sell at Magic Millions weanling sale this weekend, Rosemont’s Anthony Mithen has a growing confidence that their young gun stallion is exactly what the Australian market wants.
“The buyers want athletic, strong horses that give you a chance to run fast at 2, train on to be 3yos and are tough enough to go on with it at 4. They want a stallion with genuine G1 class – not just flash in the pan one-hit wonders. And they want stallions to be fast. Well there has been none faster than Toorak Toff in the stallion making Golden Rose,” Mithen said.
“He was Group winner and Magic Millions winner of three races at 2, Group One winner of a proper race at 3 and trained on to win the G1 Rupert Clarke Stakes at 4. And he has simply outstanding foals on the ground. We will be happy to offer breeders that are serious about Toorak Toff a discount this season, but we believe he stands head and shoulders above the rest at this price point.”
Inglis senior bloodstock advisors Simon Vivian and Brett Gilding visited Rosemont Stud for weanling inspections last week and were glowing in their praise of the stallion’s stock, stating that they won’t be able to have enough of them for their sales in 2015.
Simon Vivian could not have heaped more praise on the types Toorak Toff is leaving: “I was delighted. They were a really good batch of horses. Having seen Toorak Toff there was a certain standard of foal I wanted to see and to a degree expected to see but I’m pleased to say that I saw them,” Vivian enthused.
“I’m really looking forward to 2015 as we are going to have a fantastic draft of them. He is leaving a really, really good product on the ground.”
Launching their Rosemont Stud page on Facebook and a @RosemontStud Twitter handle, the farm has a unique competition where followers can win a prize pack including a $200 clothing voucher.
Breeders are asked to guess what price the Toorak Toff weanling colt ex Volksini will bring at the Magic Millions weanling sale this Sunday and Monday.
The third and final Toorak Toff weanling to sell at the sale, the most accurate prediction nominated on the Facebook page or Twitter will win jackets, hats and the voucher. To view the the pedigree of the colt, click here
Rosemont Stud also announced that Starspangledbanner will cover a very limited book of mares with his price on application.
“We will be covering only 50 mares to give him every chance to get those mares in foal. I think there is only a handful of spots left, so breeders better contact us quickly,” Mithen said.
