Having the foresight to secure broodmares with potential residual value is a skill, and Rosemont Stud appears to be making a fine art of it.

Mares such as Skewiff, the dam of now stakes winner Enquare; Marcia Proba, a half-sister to Magic Millions 3yo Guineas winner and Slipper runner up Sweet Idea and Miss Kistler, a half-sister to the recently retired Group One performer Eurozone, are just a few of the recent purchases.

Encosta de Lago mare Kneeling (pictured left) produced an outstanding front running display on Wednesday to take out the Listed Wangoom Handicap at Warrnambool for trainer Peter Moody, but it wasn’t only the connections of the mare that were smiling, with all at Rosemont Stud also cheering the mare home.

Rosemont Stud were fortunate enough to secure Sunday Service, the dam of Kneeling, at the 2013 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale carrying a positive to Newgate Farm’s Group One-winning son of Fastnet Rock in Foxwedge for $150,000.

Not only is Sunday Service the dam of Kneeling, but also to the Joe Pride-trained track record breaker and stakes performer That’s A Good Idea.

Producing an impressive colt in mid-November, Sunday Service was sent to resident stallion Toorak Toff and now carries a positive test to the stallion. This results just adds to an impressive recent list of updates!

A multiple Group One winner, Toorak Toff entered stud in 2012 at Rosemont Stud and has his first crop of weanlings set to go through the sales in the coming weeks. Having covered two impressive, quality packed books of mares so far, we are excited about the future for THE FASTEST GOLDEN ROSE winner ever ~ faster than Duporth, Denman and Zoustar!
