After making a strong impact at the Gold Coast Magic Millions sale last month finishing in the top 10 on aggregate for the whole sale, Rosemont has again thrown it’s gates open for buyers to cast an eagle eye over their largest Melbourne Premier draft ever.

The team will take 24 outstanding types down to Oaklands next Tuesday, but this morning it was case of “it’s a bird, it’s a plane … no it’s Moods, Mick and Clint!”.

Arriving at the crack of dawn, the talented threesome arrived in style .. looking more rockstar than humble racehorse trainer, Peter Moody first to get off the chopper and into the Rosemont action.

It didn’t take Mick Price and Clinton McDonald long to find the bacon and egg rolls! They were expertly cooked by Chef de Mission and Rosemont resident bloodstock guru Dean Harvey.

Given how good the eggs tasted, the walkway needed to be cleared of the feathery friends that produced them before any parade could start with earnest. She took a bit of catching but no live animals were injured at this morning’s parade!

With a chill in the air, Rosemont hoodies and jackets were ordered and when Moods slipped into the fleecy, it was smiles all-round and time to get on with the show.

With colts by Snitzel, High Chaparral, Not a Single Doubt, Denman, Dane Shadow, Wanted, Paco Boy, Starcraft, Savabeel, Lope de Vega, Danzero, Choisir and Testa Rossa there was something there for everyone and the nice run of colts had the brainstrust working overtime.

It wasn’t all bloodstock and serious faces. We were all pretty sure that Clint was looking at the horse … but who could be sure behind that hoodie!

And Moods couldn’t help himself … at his cheeky best with a wisecrack about the chilly breeze!

But the nice fillies of the equine variety kept the Caulfield maestros in check and it was back to business for Mick and Clint

All the while Bruno the guard dog kept an eye on the lads ride and made sure it stayed safe and sound while parked on his lawn, which sometimes doubles as a cricket oval at Rosemont Gnarwarre.

So with 24 inspected, notes taken, breakfast sorted and extra clothes stolen, it was on with the travelling airshow for the trusty trio. Up, up and away … and thanks for coming lads!
