With a positive test to Rosemont Stud’s dual Group One winner Toorak Toff, the Vettori mare Coablo could have a very good Spring if the Randwick barrier trial victory this morning of her daughter Arabian Gold is anything to go by.

Winning her trial by a length-and-a-half from the Guy Walter-trained Group Two winner Toydini, with his stable mate Streama, the dual Group One winner a further two-and-three-quarter lengths astern.

By Dubawi, the David Vandyke-trained Arabian Gold is the winner of four of her six starts to date highlighted by victories at her last two starts in emphatic fashion over the Peter Moody-trained Stamina, with that three-year-old colt resuming recently with a very encouraging win, pushing himself well into the market for Randwick’s Group One Spring Champion Stakes in October.

With a nomination to the Group One Thousand Guineas, owner Nick Moraitis thinks so highly of the filly, she has also been nominated for the Group One W.S. Cox Plate at Moonee Valley, a race won by his Champion galloper Might And Power.

With many of Toorak Toff’s foals being spitting images of their sire,  it will be interesting to see what Coablo’s foal looks like since she is a grey – stay tuned and we will try to organize a picture when the foal is born.
