Purchasing the Darci Brahma mare Miss Kistler from the recent Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale for $20,000 looks like it could be a very good investment.
Out of the G3 WATC Sires’ Produce Stakes winner Miss Vandal, Miss Kistler is a half-sister to the G2 Hill Stakes and G3 Craven Plate winner Miss Marielle, but arguably one of the most exiting winners of the past week is now a half-sister to our recently purchased mare.
Trained by the maestro Bart Cummings, two-year-old Northern Meteor colt Eurozone(pictured right) produced a very exciting victory during the week at Canterbury, winning at his racetrack debut off the back of two impressive trial wins.
Starting the short priced favourite, the colt got up to defeat the Peter Snowden-trained Suit, who was also having his first start, with a further two-and-a-quarter lengths back to the third horse.
‘‘He feels to me as though he is well above average,’’ jockey Hugh Bowman said.
‘‘It’s only a winter maiden, mind you, but he does give you an exceptionally good feel and he’s a straightforward horse and I am sure we’re going to hear a lot more of him.’’
‘‘He’s got a lovely action. He’s still a little bit immature physically but he’s got plenty of upside.’’
With similar looks to the former stable start Saintly, one can hope for Miss Kistler that Eurozone’s winning ways continue.
Set to be covered by Rosemont Stud’s G1 Golden Rose and G1 Rupert Clarke Stakes winner Toorak Toff at her second season at stud, Miss Kistler is due to foal this season to Arrowfield Stud’s multiple G1 winner Starcraft.
Standing this season at a fee of $16,500 (inc. GST), Toorak Toff’s first books of mares are due to foal this season and include some impressive mares such as;
Anglemouse, a winning Redoute’s Choice mare who is out of a winning Zabeel three-quarter sister to G1 winners Don Eduardo, Octagonal, Mouawad, Shower Of Roses as well as being a half-sister to successful G1-producing sires Commands and Danewin.
Attire, the dam of Champion 2YO filly Fashions Afield, winner of the G1 Sires’ Produce Stakes and G1 Flight Stakes, as well as finishing as the runner up in the G1 Golden Slipper, G1 Champagne Stakes and the G1 Tatt’s RC Winter Stakes.
Comedy On The Run, a Flying Spur mare out of the Sadler’s Wells mare Humour, who is herself the dam of G2 winners Happy Morning and Fatal Attraction, as well as being a half-sister to G1 winners Danasinga and Tracy’s Element (dam of Typhoon Tracy), as well as Urge To Merge (dam of G1 winners Master Of Design and Suntagonal).
