Starting one of the favoured runners in Race 1, Australian Turf Club Maiden Plate over 1400m at Warwick Farm on May 19, the three-year-old Street Sense filly Vision Splendid proved too tough for her rivals, scoring a narrowly, but decisive victory.

Having finished fourth and her two runs this time in, the Kerrin McEvoy-ridden filly appreciated the step up to the 1400m, and raced as if she will appreciate a little further.

The Rosemont Stud-consigned Lot 13 is a bay filly by Flying Spur’s Group Two winner Shaft, out of the multiple Stakes-winning; Group One placed Skewiff, making this filly a half-sister to the Vision Splendid.

Now the dam of two winners from two to the races, Skewiff recorded 12 career wins and over $512,000 in career earnings. While she was a dual Group Three winner, some of her best performances came at Group One level, including when she finished third, beaten a head x half a head in the Group One Emirates Stakes behind Sky Cuddle, she then finished fourth at her next start in the Group One Peters Classic (Myer Classic), beaten one-and-a-quarter lengths by Miss Potential, Alinghi and Infinite Grace.
