Lot 13, B. F. Shaft x Skewiff, by Mookta, Rosemont Stud (as agent)
By Flying Spur’s Group Two-winning son Shaft, this filly is out of the $500,000 earner Skewiff, a mare who was not only a dual Group Three winner but was a class mare of her generation, finishing third, beaten a head x half a head in the Group One Emirates Stakes behind Sky Cuddle, she then finished fourth at her next start in the Group One Peters Classic (Myer Classic), beaten one-and-a-quarter lengths by Miss Potential, Alinghi and Infinite Grace – not bad form at all!

Lot 24, Ch. F. Equiano x Spur, by Flying Spur, Rosemont Stud (as agent)
From the first southern hemisphere-bred crop of Acclamation’s Champion Group One winner Equiano, the chestnut filly is out of the Flying Spur mare Spur who comes from the family of stakes winners Danendri, Zingam, Banc de Fortune, Shanzero, Faint Perfume and Danestorm. The filly received a pedigree update recently through Banc De Fortune’s second foal, Encosta de Lago colt Eagle Island who won the Listed Oaklands Plate on debut. Flying Spur mares at stud have done a tremendous job to date, produce 41 stakes winners highlighted by Group One winners Sebring, Delago Deluxe, Headway and Grand Journey.

Lot 91, Ch. C. Ad Valorem x Bella Casetta, by Grand Lodge, Rosemont Stud (as agent)
By Danzig’s multiple Group One winner Ad Valorem, this colt comes from the Grand Lodge mare Bella Casetta. The family of this colt is a prolific source of stakes winners with the likes of Group One winners Zeditave, Greys Inn, Melito and recent Vinery Stud Stakes winner Norzita all appearing in it. Grand Lodge as a broodmare sire has also produced 26 stakes winners highlighted by Group One winners Wall Street, Zipping, Appearance, Xtension, Joshua Tree, Strategic News as well as Rosemont Stud’s very own Toorak Toff, while the Ad Valorem x Grand Lodge cross has only been represented by four runners, for three winners including Group Two winner Pied A Terre.

Lot 122, B. F. Reset x Costanera, by Encosta de Lago, Rosemont Stud (as agent)
By arguably one of Victoria’s most prolific stakes producing sires in Reset, the unbeaten, dual Group One winning son of Zabeel. This filly is out of Costanera, an Encosta de Lago three-quarter-sister to the Group One Emirates Stakes winner Titanic Jack and comes from the family of The Group One Toorak Handicap winner Sober Suit. Reset has produced 22 stakes winners to date with one of his most consistent runners this season being the three-time stakes winner Star Of Giselle, and the unbeaten, ill-fated two-year-old filly Ms Funovits. With an impressive 75% winner to runner ratio for this cross, this Reset filly is sure to one for pin hookers to look at very closely.

Lot 225, B. F. Murtajill x Lynchburg Lady, by Aldebaran, Rosemont Stud (as agent)
With his oldest progeny only two, Murtajill is doing a good job with two of his three winners to date already being stakes performers, both fillies. This filly is the third foal out of the American-bred Aldebaran mare Lynchburg Lady, a half-sister to Group One winner I Believe In You and the Listed winner Ready Cash. While Aldebaran as a broodmare sire is quite unknown in Australia, he has a very healthy international strike rate of 62% winners to runners.
