Eliza Park resident Shinzig, part-owned by Rosemont Stud, has landed his first winner with his first runner after Psychic Mick won at Morphettville on Saturday.

Sitting just behind the early speed Psychic Mick hit the front and held off the late challengers to score an impressive win.

A bargain $10,000 purchase by part-owner Michael Duffield at last year’s Adelaide Magic Millions Yearling sale, Physic Mick is the second foal of the Melbourne winning Bianconi (USA) mare Super Fund. He was Shinzig’s first ever Australia-wide runner.

Rosemont has supported Shinzig since he went to stud shortly after winning the GI Orr Stakes for a newly-formed syndicate including the Ceres-based farm. Rosemont has a couple of yearlings it will sell privately and a foal out of a close relation to farm-favorite Secret Flyer.

Unfortunately buyers won’t see many of his progeny at the upcoming Inglis Premier Sale, with only one on offer, with a further four at the MM Adelaide Sale in mid March.
