Second Group 3 victory for Rosemont Stud graduate

Star Witness filly Fuhryk tasted Group 3 success back in February at Caulfield and was in the frame again at Morphettville on Saturday when taking out the Group 3 SAJC Proud Miss Stakes.

Narrowly beaten at her previous run at the same venue when second to Sweet Sherry in the Group II SAJC Euclase Stakes, the Hayes/ Dabernig trained filly quickly made amends for that defeat.

She went forward from a wide gate for Craig Williams to travel behind the leaders and powered to the line to win the 1200 metre sprint by a length and a quarter.

Bred by Michael Christian's Saconi Thoroughbreds, Fuhryk was a $60,000 Inglis Premier purchase from the Rosemont Stud draft for Lindsay Park Bloodstock and runs for a large group of owners that include her breeder.

Fuhryk has the overall record of five wins from nine starts with prizemoney topping $430,000.

She is the best of two winners from stakes-placed Fuhrnatic, a grand-daughter of Group 1 placed stakes-winner Pseudonym Miss.

Fuhrnatic was purchased by Belmont Bloodstock as agent at the 2015 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale for just $40,000 when in foal to All Too Hard.

She produced a colt by All Too Hard for her new owner Robert Crabtree that fetched $500,000 when sold at Magic Millions earlier this year as a yearling to Little Kwok Hing Hung / Bahen Bloodstock.

Fuhrnatic has since produced a weanling colt by Magnus and is back in foal to him again.
