Price unperturbed by Tarzino effort

The multiple Group 1 winner finished 10th, beaten six lengths behind Palentino in the weight-for-age contest, the same horse he was narrowly beaten by in the Australian Guineas at the same track and distance earlier this year.

Despite the fact the son of Tavistock only beat home three rivals in the Makybe Diva, Price said he was looking forward to the horse's next run in the Underwood Stakes at Caulfield on Saturday week.

"Tarzino's good and he was fine on Sunday morning," Price said.

"It was a stop-start race on Saturday, the Makybe Diva.

"He drew an inside barrier and Entirely Platinum didn't help, he ran into the back of him and Tarzino's not a stop-start horse, he needs to be able to flow into his races.

"He had nothing in front of him in the run and he's a horse that can get a bit keen but it was just one of those races that didn't work out for us.

"I'm happy with him and am looking forward to the Underwood and then going on to the Turnbull and the Caulfield Cup."
