Brilliant Juvenile Winner for Starcraft

Former Hunter Valley based sire Starcraft will be a new addition to the Victorian sire ranks this spring when he joins the roster at Rosemont Stud, his potential highlighted by a runaway juvenile winner at Bendigo on Wednesday in Club Star.

Prepared by Peter Moody and ridden by Luke Nolen, Club Star gave his rivals not chance when accelerating smartly to win the 1400 metre maiden by three lengths.

Fifth on debut at Moonee Valley in June and then second at Echuca, Club Star has shown good improvement with each run and appreciated the step up in distance.

A $115,000 Magic Millions purchase for his trainer from the Newhaven Park draft, Club Star was bred by Wilkes Thoroughbreds and is the first foal of Quick Blush, a former smart two year-old by Redoute's Choice that was fourth in the Group I MRC Blue Diamond Stakes.

Quick Blush comes from the family of champion two and three year-old Encounter, who won 11 races, six of them Group I.

Newhaven Park sold the current yearling from Quick Blush, a filly by More Than Ready (USA), for $125,000 at Magic Millions this year to Dynamic Syndications.

A champion miler and proven Group I producing sire, Starcraft comes to Victoria in a joint venture between Arrowfield Stud and Rosemont Stud, his fee set at $11,000.
