While the owners of Sweet Idea, Estonian Princess and Enquare were cheering their three-year-olds as they crossed the line in Saturday’s Magic Millions 3YO Guineas on the Gold Coast, all at Rosemont Stud were also cheering loudly as each of the first three over the line have a direct link to our dual Group One-winning stallion Toorak Toff.

With his first crop now on the ground, and receiving rave reviews, Toorak Toff, a Magic Millions graduate himself covered a stellar book of mares in both his first and second years at stud.

His second book included the Falbrav mare Marcia Proba, a half-sister to the Group Two Silver Slipper Stakes and now Magic Millions 3YO Guineas winner Sweet Idea.

Purchased by Rosemont Stud in foal to Wanted, Marcia Proba foaled a colt by the Group One-winning son of Fastnet Rock in October, before being covered in early November by Toorak Toff.

Another mare covered by the son of Show A Heart in the spring was the American-bred Meet My Sis, the dam of Estonian Princess, runner up to Sweet Idea.

Bred and sold by Rosemont Stud at the Magic Millions as a yearling, Estonian Princess had finished third in the Wyong Magic Millions 3yo Stakes behind Sweet Idea before heading to Randwick on New Year’s Day and breaking her maiden by one-and-a-half-lengths.

Initially the first emergency for the race, and after the withdrawal of Charlie Boy, the Scott-Aspery-trained Estonian Princess made the field and produced the race of her life to finish second, giving her sire Snitzel the race quinella.

Meet My Sis foaled a filly (pictured right) by Toorak Toff in September and was again sent back to the stunning chestnut stallion, with the mare now safely in foal.

Having won her previous four consecutive races including the Group Three Vo Rogue Plate last time out, Stratum filly Enquare started the favourite in the Magic Millions 3yo Guineas, and after settling in a handy position, held on to take third in the race.

Out of the stakes-winning Mookta mare Skewiff, also owned by Rosemont Stud, the mare produced a colt this season by Toorak Toff, and so impressed with the foal (pictured left), Rosemont Stud decided to send the mare back to him – the mare is now also safely in foal.

With the first three across the line all quality fillies, who by all accounts will be set for further black type races down the track, the book of Toorak Toff looks like it can be only further bolstered by any future success.

With his first crop of weanlings due in the sale ring in 2014, Rosemont Stud are extremely excited about how buyers are going to react to the progeny. For a selection of photos of foals by him, please click here.
