Rosemont Stud has enjoyed its best-ever sales results with a stunning draft bringing big dollars at Melbourne's Premier Sale 08, Oaklands Junction.

With seven of eight of its P1 draft going under the hammer, the Geelong-based Stud enjoyed an average of over $90,000 with top lot sold for $210,000 - a spectacular Dash for Cash filly from Matter.

The grey filly was always popular in the lead-up to the first day of selling, but if she needed a helping hand, she got in on the Saturday with her older 2yo brother Carnero winning the $400,000 Inglis Premier race. Her half-sister Gratis was unlucky not to win the very next race - the Group Two Pol Roger.

In a spirited bidding duel, Lindsay Park's bid of $200,000 was not quite enough for Sydney trainer Paul Perry who went to $210,000 to break the record for money given for any of Dash for Cash's three crops to go through Australia-wide sale rings .

Other highlights for the farm were the sales of the Reset - Belgo colt which made a neat $100,000 to the successful bid of Mornington trainer Jason Petch and the $90,000 given for the half-brother to Tasmanian Derby winner Mega Boss by the Victoria's astute bloodstock agent Brad Spicer. By first season stallion Shamardal out of Mega Achiever, the strong colt looks set to follow in his half-brother's footsteps and head down a derby track with Caulfield trainer Mick Price.

Other results that were sure to please the hard-working crew at Rosemont were $85,000 for the Cape Cross - Peau de Soie filly, $85,000 for the Testa Rossa - Tuscanna colt and $40,000 for the Tiger Hill - Andromaque filly sold on behalf of new Collingwood captain Scott Burns.
